Whitney.\u00a0 Much of the parks area is designated wilderness.\u00a0 The two parks are administered together by the National Park Service.\u00a0 Thank you Gary Rogers for bringing these parks to my attention.<\/p>\n<p>There are five visitor centers and a museum. Two of the visitor centers, Foothills and Kings Canyon, and the museum are\u00a0open year around.<br \/>\nHere is the Parks&#8217; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/seki\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website.<\/a>\u00a0 \u00a0Park phone 559-565-3341<\/p>\n<p>Cedar Grove area trails<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.accessiblenature.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/wheelchair_symbol_blue.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1212\" src=\"http:\/\/www.accessiblenature.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/wheelchair_symbol_blue.png\" alt=\"Wheelchair Accessible\" width=\"18\" height=\"19\" \/><\/a>Zumwalt Meadow 1.5-mile trail, some of it boardwalk.\u00a0 The trail &#8220;&#8230;passes high granite walls, lush meadows, and the Kings River.&#8221;\u00a0 Parts of this trail were washed out in early 2017, making it more difficult.\u00a0 Check with the visitor center.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.accessiblenature.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/wheelchair_symbol_blue.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1212\" src=\"http:\/\/www.accessiblenature.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/wheelchair_symbol_blue.png\" alt=\"Wheelchair Accessible\" width=\"18\" height=\"19\" \/><\/a>Roaring River Falls\u00a0 paved\u00a0 &#8220;Relatively accessible&#8221;\u00a0 &#8220;&#8230;A very short, shady walk to a powerful waterfall rushing through a granite chute.&#8221;<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.accessiblenature.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Hikerwithcane.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1697\" src=\"http:\/\/www.accessiblenature.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Hikerwithcane.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"18\" height=\"19\" \/><\/a><strong>?<\/strong>\u00a0 Mist Falls 3 of the first 4 miles to the falls are &#8220;relatively flat&#8221;\u00a0 but the last mile to the falls rises 600&#8243;.<br \/>\nGiant Forest and Lodgepole trails<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.accessiblenature.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/wheelchair_symbol_blue.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1212\" src=\"http:\/\/www.accessiblenature.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/wheelchair_symbol_blue.png\" alt=\"Wheelchair Accessible\" width=\"18\" height=\"19\" \/><\/a>General Sherman Tree.\u00a0 There is handicapped parking and an accessible trail two miles north of the Giant Forest Museum on the Generals Highway.\u00a0 \u00a0The main trail is only 0.5 mile, but includes some stairs.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.accessiblenature.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/wheelchair_symbol_blue.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1212\" src=\"http:\/\/www.accessiblenature.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/wheelchair_symbol_blue.png\" alt=\"Wheelchair Accessible\" width=\"18\" height=\"19\" \/><\/a>Big Trees Trail 0.66 mile paved loop starting at Giant Forest Museum.<\/p>\n<p>Grant Grove trails<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.accessiblenature.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/wheelchair_symbol_blue.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1212\" src=\"http:\/\/www.accessiblenature.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/wheelchair_symbol_blue.png\" alt=\"Wheelchair Accessible\" width=\"18\" height=\"19\" \/><\/a>General Grant Tree Trail\u00a0 0.33 mile paved.
